Since its incorporation in 1962, the George Community Hall organization has been an active contributor to the cultural and civic life in the city of George, Washington. A Board of Directors who live in the George area oversees the facility; these individuals also function as volunteer event directors for the city of George, particularly highlighting the Presidents’ Day and July 4th holidays.

The primary purpose and function for which this charitable corporation was formed is to (1) provide a place where George community events, meetings and social gatherings can comfortably occur; (2) to promote awareness of and appreciation for music, the arts and American history by means of cultural events and activities; (3) to encourage an inclusive cultural identity in the George, Washington area; and (4) to enlarge upon the Early American/Colonial theme of the city of George, Washington whenever possible.

Rental fees from private events, proceeds from weekly Bingo, as well as aggressive fundraising meet the general operating expenses of the Community Hall.

Money is not the only kind of contribution that we are looking for; we place a very high value on volunteerism.
Donations of time, ability and effort are what makes the George Community Hall tick! There is always room for people willing to pitch in and help with various events and projects like the Coffeehouse, the President's Day and July 4 celebrations, and other activities. If you live in the George, Washington area and are interested in participating with this very active Community Hall board in a variety of meaningful community projects, all we ask you to do is SHOW UP to the monthly meetings! These happen on the 3rd Monday, every month at 7:00 p.m. at the GCH. For exact meeting dates, see our calendar, posted on the "George Community Hall" page.
